Fundraising...

Because of the high level of activity of our music program, it is necessary for us to organize fundraising opportunities.  These include:

  • BC Apple fundraiser (September)
  • CocoBrooks or Spolumbos (March)
  • Flower Baskets (near Mother's Day)
  • 50/50 sales (at our concerts)
  • Casino (approx. every 3 years)

A system of individual student accounts is used in conjunction with most fundraising projects.  This practice reflects a desire to encourage rather than to enforce participation by students and parents in fundraising projects.  Students can then use their individual fundraised amounts to help offset, or in many cases, fully cover the cost of their band trip(s) throughout the year.

Some of the fundraisers (our casino for example) go toward the Band Society as a whole.  The band society then helps to purchase instruments, pay for clinicians and help offset transportation costs associated with band trips.
